Help converting a VOB to use in Windows Movie Maker

Postby Victoria11 » 08 May 2015 03:31

I had my daughter's quinceañera professionally video taped (got 2 DVD's each running approx 1.5 hours from videographer) but approx 8 mins of the second DVD has no sound for some reason. The videographer gave me every thing he recorded (unedited) for me to use as I wanted, the problem is, when I tried to open any of the video clips in Windows Movie Maker, it says they are VOB's. So they will need to be converted into something WMM can read & this is how I came across VLC because I searched online for how to convert VOB's & the VLC download came up. When I open the video clip in question with VLC, the missing sound is there but I have no idea how to covert that into something I use in WMM and this is what I need help with. Can someone help with this? This may be a very easy "problem" but I've never had to do something like this before so I apologize if I don't even know where to begin or if I am even using the correct program.
When/if you respond to this question, please try to explain it in a simple term as possible. I don't know all the of abbreviations you all may be used to so please be patient with me. I thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Thank you, Victoria11
