How to use number keys to select corresponding item number on playlist?

If I have a playlist in VLC I am able to use the hotkeys N or P to scroll through the list. But is there a way to do this with number keys instead? As an example if I have an item at number 8 in the playlist is there a way to press the number key 8 to go to this item instead of manually scrolling though?
