I use VLC as my default player ....... but hit an issue where it won't play avi files properly .. these are compressed with lossless Lagarith codec.

The mediainfo on the files shows:

Anything special I need to add/configure to get these to play.

What version of VLC did you try?

The latest according to upgrade screen
ver 2.1.5

The file opens .. but it plays in very short bursts, restarting every few seconds ...
Think files are fine .. load them for example in Sony Vegas and they are accepted as valid and allow play/edit etc/

Please try 2.2.0 from Nightly Build of VLC

When I click on link it shows all files start with 3.0.0.x don't see anything in W64 folder for 2.2.0

Use 32bits.

Maybe I'm being dumb, shouldn't I be using 64 bit player ? or is this just to test ?

Really, use the 32bits for now. It's more stable.

Will it auto notify of update when it can get back onto mainstream build ?

I'll forget 64bit for now .......... is there an expected time when 64 bit will be stable.?
