Hi,

for a few sounddesign projects I need a video player that is able to be remote controlled by external Timecode such as SMPTE inserted through the analogue input or MTC. If there is someone who had similar needs an possibly a solution, I would be happy if you could share it. Thanks, Jather

I saw a product in one of the TV Engineering magazines what hooked up to your serial port and had an NTSC input. It would read off LTC timecode and also provided 4 GPIs. Maybe you could use that and somehow script the output to talk to VLC???

There might be an easier option built into VLC. I don't know VLC as extensively as others on here.

Brad

Thanks...

Thanks Brad, I hope so. If anyone knows something about this particular problem I would appreciate it if you would share it. Maybe somebody knows another player which is capable of accepting timecode.

Thanks again...

I know one player that you can sync : virtual vtr.
But it works only on MacOsX, and pretty expansive.

I'd like to be able to sync Vlc with Smpte and Midi machine control[/url]

Is anyone thinking about adding this type of functionality to VLC?
