Frame capture VLC 2.1.5 filename

Gidday,

From searching through the forum posts, It has been suggested within Win 7 to have VLC save a frame capture as the video file's filename using $N.

When I use this as the 'filemask', I end up with a filenamed $N, not the name of the originating video file.

Can anyone suggest a place where I may find some assisting information on this problem?

Thank you in advance.

Just posted this in another thread that I think it is a bug in the newer builds. The snapshot prefixes all worked after installing version 0.9.9 Grishenko, though I'm not sure if this is limited to Windows or not.
