The VideoLAN Forums

I have recently downloaded vlc onto a new machine with windows 8.1 and it's coming on screen too large (large icons etc, the forum will only show one or two messages), this is only happening to VLC and returns to normal size when I end my session, I have had a look through the menus but have been unable to find anything that will allow me to adjust it.....I'm obviously missing something.

Can someone please enlighten me.
