VLC not displaying correct .ass font

Hi there guys.
So I'm testing out creating an mkv and keep running into the problem of the .ass file not displaying the "Futura Extended" font but rather some other font. It displays correctly in MPC-HC. Anyone know the potential issue? From where do I need to provide logs?
