Can't read a mkv.

Hi!
I have a problem, can you help me?
I am trying to read a large mkv (18GB) on my iPad Air. But when I start it, the mkv work but go directly at 30 min, I can't watch de begin.
Do you think it´s because the mkv is to large and my iPad not enought powerful(I read 12 GB 's mkv succesfully on the same device) or is it corupted ?
