Folders in saved playlist disappear

I create a playlist by dragging all of the separate folders of video files into the playlist window (which still involves you having to go through each one in the list and expand it before VLC treats it as more than one item, but thats another topic..) and then save the playlist to file as an .xspf. After a restart (or maybe even sleep mode and back) I use the playlist as a shortcut to open VLC and start playing, and the playlist is no longer organized by folders but has dumped the contents of all of them in a combined mess. I never had this problem before 2.1.5. Anyone know why and how to prevent this from happening?
