Demonstration of problem:
Given this demonstration SRT file, that includes voweled Hebrew (עברית מנוקדת):

However, when the SRT subtitles are used inside VLC, the vowels are displayed before their corresponding letters and not on the letter (the screen-shot is from VLC 2.1.4):

You can file a bug. But given none of the active developers understand Hebrew, you'd better look for someone who can look into the problem.

Hi Rémi,
How does one become an active developer for VLC?
I speak Hebrew, understand Unicode (including Unicode representation of voweled Hebrew), and develop for Unix in Python and C.
Are the VLC sources available, and if so, could someone point me to the SRT rendering modules?
Maybe I could figure out why this bug exists and offer a solution?
(At a minimum, I could probably pinpoint the sources that should be looked at as the possible root-causes).
Bye,
Ron.
