VLC Stopped playing Youtube URL's

Hi! :)

I'm new in the forum and ended up here after first trying to contact VLC over the email, but then found out that this is the place to ask such questions. :)

Basically I was using VLC to play Youtube videos, since I like the louder volume VLC has.

At some point recently, VLC stopped playing most (but not all) Youtube URLs giving me a message like:
"Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL ... Check the log for details."

Does anyone know what's up with this? Is it a new Youtube thing due to a change or do I need to make some changes to VLC's settings?

Thanks! :)

PS: VLC version 2.1.5 Rinsewind, installed with a binary installer and no add-ons or mods. Basically a stock installation from Binary, not the Rar no-install version.

Youtube changed something on his side. The script used by VLC and stored in youtube.lua or youtube.luac (the compiled version) must be updated. The last version can be found here: http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=bl ... ua;hb=HEAD.
Store this file as youtube.lua in the right place after deleting the original youtube.luac (https://wiki.videolan.org/Documentation ... troduction explains where theses files must be located).
