Blu-Ray 3D to SBS live conversion

I have some 3d blu rays (well, some bd isos decrypted with AnyDvdHD for backup), I have a notebook with HDMI output (1.3 only), a 3D tv set and VLC. VLC plays the blu ray files, but only in full frame 2d mode. With HDMI 1.3 there is no way to send a proper 3d interleaved frame to the tv, so I was thinking of finding a way to display the blu-ray 3d in vertical or horizontal SBS format, which is something manually selectable on the tv set. There is at least another software player (stereoscopic player) who does this conversion on the fly, I was wondering if there is some option in VLC to obtain similar results.
