Encoding settings for playback on Android

Hi all,

I'm trying to convert videos to play on an Android tablet. If I use the default encodings, "Video for Android SD" etc, I get no audio on the tablet with the stock movie player. (Plays OK in VLC on the PC).

Noting that Android seem to like AAC audio, I tried the mp4a codec, but now I get "Streaming/Transcoding failed: VLC could not open the encoder". Do I have to install an encoder and where do I get one?

Thanks...

Using 2.1.2 Rincewind on Win 7 64-bit.

Same here.
Trying to stream videos (.mpg, .avi) using VLC Direct Pro to my Android phone while VLC Player is opened on my PC using --http-password=vlcdirect and getting the same error message.
