How to chose DVB audio stream?

Hello,
it seems there are 2 audio streams within DVB-C available, MPEG and A52.
How can I tell VLC to prefer either one?
EDIT: in codec information I can see the A52 stream, but from within the VLC GUI I cannot chose it. The A52 stream seem to not have a language description. How can I tell VLC to use the A52 stream?
I suffer from random audio dropouts and still investigate the reason, I would like to test if using MPEG or A52 may cure this,
I use VLC 2.1.2 on Linux.
