H.264 + AAC profile option disappeared

...not so much disappeared, but rather I accidentally deleted it from the options.
Let me explain my problem, and I so hope you can help!!
I am trying to record vide and audio from my desktop of a streaming lecture for medical school. When I had the H.264 + AAC it seemed the video was recording fine but with no audio. I am VERY new to this stuff, and so I was playing with options, and accidentally deleted that option from the drop menu in the profile section
I tried to uninstall and reinstall various times, but I keep getting VLC options and versions from different websites with all sorts of adds etc. I just want to get that profile stuff back and be able to record these lectures! PLEASE HELP
