Blue/red flickering with fraps videos

Hello VLC Community,

I recently got a problem with playing unedited fraps videos, it's been giving me blue/red flickering. It used to work a week ago, but kind of broke two days ago.
VLC version 2.1.2 and yes, I already resetted VLC player.

Here's a video I made, showing the issue and also playing the same video in an other palyer - and before you say it's the graphics card: it's not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcIHsMFHjM8
In the first couple of seconds I'm playing a 1080p video, that I also captured with fraps, but already got edited.

Thanks

/edit: What I forgot to mention - if I pause the video in VLC it shows a clear image without any red & blue stuff. Also - if I pause and play like five times in a row VLC kills itself, but doesn't remove from task manager, which results a process kill, before one is able to relaunch VLC.
/edit2: Don't think that's important, but I'm running Win7 64bit with the latest drivers & windows updates.

Hi.

I just created an account to post here as well as I am also having the exact same issue.

I can confirm its not hardware related as I also get the same results under the same circumstances.

My test was recording minecraft at various settings using 60 and 30 FPS, various in game settings V Sync off/On so forth and everytime i finished recording, i opened up VLC to see the video and got the same red/green/blue flickering and a very low framerate while viewing the video, while the framerate in game was fine. It had me stuffed for about half hour before i went searching, came across this post and indeed i tried a different player, in this case, Windows Media Player and bam, everything was fine. Framerate was exactly what i was recording in game, no flickering. So now i am happy that i know i am recording the video ok, but viewing it in VLC causes issues.

VLC is 2.1.2
My system is also a 64bit Win7. I have duel monitors (I thought this was the cause of the issue but I disabled the 2nd monitor and it still happened).

I also tried a few different media players and it seems VLC is the only one that is having issues. I am also getting the issues if i pause the video in VLC, it crashes and have to force close the process.

Any suggestions would be appreciated as I dare say the OP is pulling his/her hair out the same way i was.

Thanks in advance.

I am getting the same thing with fraps videos. Except its only to some of them out of the 20 or so i have it only happens to about 10 of them. Now this only started happening after i updated to 2.1.2, before that it was fine. I tried going back to an old version but now it was happening as well. I continued going to older versions and continued to getting same problem for the select few videos.

Yes, this happens with YUV lagarith files.

Use 2.1.1 or 2.1.3 or deactivate direct rendering in VLC advanced options (FFmpeg section).

I am using 2.1.2. Can't seem to find 2.1.3 though, not even mentioning the option I should disable - where can one find that?

I'm dealing with the same thing. It's happening with fraps only and started with the latest VLC update. I would add more information but my problem is identical in almost every way to the OP.
