Hello, and have a nice day
With VLC 2.1.0 and 2.1.1 i noticed a major decline in the quality of subtitles comparing to VLC 2.0.8
I upload some snapshots from the same movies with vlc 2.0.8 and 2.1.1
The subtitles are in .srt format with VLC settings in default
VLC 2.0.8
VLC 2.1.1
VLC 2.0.8
VLC 2.1.1

Make sure you use the same video output in both versions.

You have to go fullscreen and go back to get the good resolution subtitles.
Not fixed in 2.1.2, really frustrating, as this is a thing i have to do EVERY time i use VLC...

It depends on the video output plugin in use. Some support hardware subtitles blending (e.g. OpenGL) and some don't.

Thanks a lot. It worked. But it was not an issue on version 2.0.8.
Hope it gets resolved in next version
