Block Icecast with hosts file

Postby Kristopw » 29 Oct 2013 23:31

I was hoping to put VLC on our student laptops because of its outstanding codec support. We don't have the bandwidth for everyone who wants to use the radio. Is there a way I could use the hosts file or something like that to block Icecast and the other radio services VLC comes with?

Yes, you can block the dir.xiph.org domain.
