Video output is great but no sound

I have been at this for over two days changed my settings, but still the 1 .avi file audio no sound but video is playing. All the other files with similar extensions are playing (video and audio). I have the latest VLC 2.1. Current audio settings are:

DirectX audio output
Speakers (Conexant Smart Audio HD). I have also used the default function.

I have also updated all my codecs.

Any help will be appreciated. Its annoying when I know its something simple but I missed checking or unchecking the box.

Still, this warning is about video, and video plays.

But I got no sound with mplayer, ffplay and VLC. Something is weird.
