VLC plays normally video (avi / dvd etc ) , opens mp3 / flac , but it doesn´t reproduct any sound.
I´ve turned VLC´s menu upsipde down , mute sound is not clicked , preferences> audio settings > enable audio is on , op sistem audio works normally , etc , so I can´t say it is the basic. I can´t manage to get the sound back.
The funny is that yesterday I watched a dvd without any trouble. As I haven´t changed anything what may cause this ?
Any hints ?
Thanks.
ps.: op sis = windows 8 64 bits

I tried to reset preferences , it hasn´t worked.
Then I downloaded vlc-2.0.8-win32.exe , uninstalled what it was (it was the same version) and installed again.
It keeps not working.
I´ve been using VLC for a long time and have never had any trouble.
Now with my new hardware and Windows 8 - 64 bits , I am having this headache.
What else can it be done to mend it ?
Thank you veru much.
PS.:
Another thing I want to comment is the lack of a language selection menu at the beginning of the setup which seems to have detected the language
my windows and installed in this language.

SOLVED
I AM SORRY I HAD NO IDEA THAT ON WINDOWS 8 AUDIO MIXER , VLC PLAYER HAD IT IS ONLY VOLUME SLIDER CONTROL (ONLY WHEN A FILE IS PLAYING), SO DOES W M P AS WELL. BY SOME UNEXPLAINABLE REASON THE SLIDER WAS SET TO ZERO.
I´ve not solved the language selection problem : I prefer english.

Thanks for posting , but I do not mean the subtitles.
It is the whole VLC interface in other language than english.
