Updating VLC to v2.0.8 fails to update the Firefox plugin. Consequently, a plugin check reports it to be vulnerable.

Steps taken before updating were as follows:

• Disabled Firefox plugin in the browser's Add-ons page.
• Uninstalled VLC 2.0.7 via Add/Remove Programs.
• Confirmed VLC plugin no longer appeared in the Firefox plugins list.
• Rebooted.
• Installed v2.0.8.
• Confirmed v2.0.8 had been successfully installed.
• Ran Firefox 23 plugin check via the Add-ons page which resulted in the the plugin being reported as v2.0.6 and vulnerable.

I've disabled the FF plugin for the time being, but will look forward to a prompt solution to the problem.
