Slow skipping of h264 video

First I thought it must be the version of VLC MP I use because when I jumped few minutes ahead in h264 video it took ages for video to start playback again. Than the updated version of VLC came and guess what, it was all the same. I did maybe more than 10 updates so far of VLC player but no change. The skipping of h264 video takes ages. Windows media player does it instantaneously. I have a rig with 16 gb of ram, amd fx 8150, geforce 680gtx. What might be the problem? Please help!

Hmm... is maybe this issue going to be addressed in the next version of VLC? If Windows media player can do it, why VLC shouldn't?!
