VLC Scrobbling timing

I am looking for a way to change the scrobbling feature to submit the data to last.fm at the start of the song rather than at the end.

I use a small program to pull my last.fm scrobble info in to my stream to insert song information there, and having the song update when it finishes is rather confusing and not very useful for this purpose.

Is there any way to modify the way that vlc submits the song to last.fm so that it will send this info as soon as I play the song?

There are very strict guidelines from last.fm on how you are supposed to scrobble...

I don't see how this could hurt in the way i intend to use it, but I imagine they have other reasons for scrobbling to work that way.

Short of this, is there some other way that I can capture my song information and put it in to my livestream as a text box? I use OBS to stream.

Servus Jean-Baptiste,
It may be a recent addition, but Last.FM's Scrobbling guidelines include a service for submitting "Now playing" tracks right from the moment the user starts a track.
See 2.0 documentation here:
http://www.last.fm/api/scrobbling
and specifically:
http://www.last.fm/api/scrobbling#now-playing-requests

Would be nice! :)
B.

This is the new API and we cannot use it.
