Audio breaking or stuttering

Tried to use VLC Media Player (version 2.0.5) to watch a 24 MB Flash video I had downloaded to my computer, but the audio breaks or stutters for a second about every 20 seconds. Tried Win32 and DirectX audio output modules, but they didn't help. Watched the same video with Media Player Classic Home Cinema and didn't have any audio trouble. Operating system is Windows XP Pro SP3.

Try a 2.1. version with DirectX audio output.

Try a 2.1. version with DirectX audio output.
VLC media player says I have the latest version (Help > Check for Updates... > You have the latest version of VLC media player). The download web page (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html) shows 2.0.5 as the latest version. Where is 2.1 to be found? If 2.1 is a beta version, then never mind; I don't install beta versions, so I'll have to wait until it's released out of beta.
