VLC slow to start

VLC slow to start
My version of VLC has recently begun to take several minutes to open - this happens whether I'm opening a file in VLC or opening the player itself. It's also happening on multiple computers, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 8. I've tried reinstalling it, but that did nothing. Anyone know what's wrong?

Weird, try reinstalling, because slow start is usually missing plugins cache.

No good - I tried that just now, but it's still slow to load.

I had the same problem with current version 2.0.5 (W7 32-bit), particularly when I double-clicked a video file to launch. The problem was on two different machines. I reinstalled on both computers and it works fine now. Weird is right.
