Change audio output on the fly

With potplayer, while playing a video or music, I can click audio, the audio render and all the audio outputs appear. I select the one I require say headphone or speakers. I use this a lot as I am continuously changing my audio output

With VLC, I need to exit VLC, then go into windows, change to what I want, then go back into VLC. Is there a better way in VLC

That will change the audio from mono to 5.1, stereo etc. It will not change the audio on the fly from headphone to speaker

Works fine here. Update VLC or change OS.

No, I am using the lastest version of vlc, tested it on 3 different machines using WIN7, XP AND VISTA and it did not work on any of them. Cannot even find the function in the online documentation
