General question about Pausing please

Hi there. I'm producing a show & last time used PowerPoint for graphics ~ pretty basic. This time around I'm using movie clips & superb purchased moving graphics. Powerpoint is useless with playing moving images ~ plays very jerky & stuttering. So I'm making the whole 1 hour presentation into an mp4. Ok.
We're all complaining about WindMedPlayer because, in full screen, the blooming Playback Bar pops up across the bottom as soon as you pause (Ctrl+P) & I dont want that showing on my huge 16ft screen for an audience of hundreds. So... my question is, before I download VLC & really get into it .... when you pause a movie using VLC in full screen (spacebar), does the movie just pause? Or does it have anything popping up anywhere? Or a dreadful "PAUSED" in big letters somewhere on the screen? And can I pause for an indefinite period ~ like an hour ~ & then just resume by spacebarring again? Thanks so much. xx

You can pause. You should deactivate OSD and fullscreen controller in preferneces.

Thanx Jean-Baptiste. I know you can pause a movie in VLC. My question was, after you have paused it, does a Playback or tool Bar pop up? Or does the word "PAUSED" show up on the screen? Thanx.

Nothing will show up when paused if you deactivate the items JB mentioned in his post.
