This is the only forum I could find listed which 'might' be the proper place to ask this question.

What are the differences between VLC, VLC media player, VideoLAN Client, VideoLAN Server and VideoLAN?

The FAQ presented the following, and it's the last one in the list that is confusing.

VLC is the official name of VideoLAN's main product, often named VLC. VideoLAN Client is an ancient name of this product.

VideoLAN Server is another product of VideoLAN, but is discontinued since a long time.

VideoLAN is not a software, see 1.1 of this FAQ.

There is no numbered list on that page, therefore how can anyone find out why "VideoLAN is not a software"?

VideoLAN is the organization. VLC is the product.

I understand that now that you answered, but, what about my question?

Why isn't that page numbered? If it had been, I wouldn't have had to post a question here. The FAQ is supposed to help avoid such things, isn't it?

Anyway, I made my point, and you gave me an answer. I appreciate that. It's just too bad the webmaster can't be contacted directly about website errors.
