Does VLC support any hardware H264 encoder?

Hello.

I wonder - does VLC support any hardware H264 encoder, that can be used for streaming? I know, that under Linux Hauppage MPEG2 cards with hardware encoders are supported, but what about H264?

I'm asking this because I would like to stream some media online, in order to do that I need either H264 hardware encoder or fast enough PC (this is probably not the best solution, since to stream single FullHD stream I would probably need pretty powerful i5 or i7 CPU plus a lot of power in my power supply).

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Best regards.

VLC supports some H.264-encoding capture devices, but not plain hardware encoders at this point.
