VLC for Windows download?

I started off at

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

and then followed the link to

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

On that page it lists links for downloads in installer or ZIP format.

No matter what link I followed all I got was a directory listing on each mirror.

I hunted around in a few to see if I could locate vlc-0.8.2-win32.exe and I came up empty.

So, I then did

http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl= ... tnG=Search which led me to http://www.download.com/VLC-Media-Playe ... 10655.html and there I found what I needed.....

I don't get why this was so tedious......

Maybe you have a weird web browser or firewall problem.

I'm using Firefox. I go to this page:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

and click either of these links for vlc-0.8.2-win32.exe:
Twente University (Netherlands) [http]
Young Insurgents (Sweden) [ftp]

and the download begins almost instantly.
