"dead" VLC

Postby hazel » 12 Jan 2013 16:25

Recently I switched from email program Outlook Express to Mozilla Thunderbird. Since then I've not been able to save any recorded messages from friends to My Documents where all previous VLC media player recordings are. Someone told me to save it to desktop and what steps to do next. I did that and it went through the motions of playing but with no sound.

However - and this is my real problem. I don't know what I did to VLC but it now will not play anything, not even the old recordings. I have been looking for a default button to set it back but I don't find it.

1. How do I get VLC to play again?

2. Will Thunderbird simply not deal with VLC? It is listed in "select".
