Missing X To Close V 2.0.4

Postby RJ3301 » 08 Nov 2012 21:54

After upgrading to 2.0.4, the X in the upper right hand corner that closes the program disappeared along with the minimize and reduce window button. Is this particular to this version or is there a way to get them back. I've played around with different settings but cannot figure this one out.

Thanks,
RJ

Hmm, your mileage may vary, but those buttons are normally the responsibility of the window manager, not VLC.

I found a partial fix for this.

Under Video, the Always on Top box was unchecked, by checking it it restores the missing buttons. If you close VLC and reopen it, the buttons are again missing and the AOT button is again unchecked.

When playing an audio file the buttons are missing and there is nothing under the Audio tab to correct this.

Is there a way to always have the AOT button stay checked?

I have version V2.0.5 and am now experiencing the same issue. I have made due by customizing my control panel and adding an "X" to the control panel (Tools -> Customize interface)I am hoping this issue will be address in the near future.

I uninstalled and reinstalled VLC play. Not the X is back in version 2.0.5... go figure.

I believe I had the same problem... mine got fixed by going to view menu and unchecking "Fullscreen Interface".

Where can I find documentation on this?
