Hi!

I upgraded from 0.8.1 to 0.8.2 VLC player (windows version) and now I can't view any network streams like stream from dreambox or VDR streamdev plugin?

Ps. Yes, I first uninstalled old version and then installed new version.

Looks like it still maybe remembers some settings from old installation (e.g. volume). I have reset settings and also deleted directory under documents and settings. Where else does it store settings?

Same problem with another computer. Upgraded from vlc 0.8.1 to 0.8.2. Can't see any http streams (vls), like from Dreambox and VDR. The bug seems to be in VLC, not in my setup.

Have to donwgrade back to 0.8.1

I'm a new user to VLC - just installed yesterday. I have not been able to get it to work on the following URL:
rtsp://video.c-span.org/15days/e071605_nga.rm?mode=compact

I'm running Mac 10.4.2 and VLC 0.8.2

It claims there is no suitable access module, among other things.

The above URL works fine in RealPlayer.

Got a reason to this (from another forum that is NOT related to VLC): Playlist format has been changed between 0.8.1 and 0.8.2.

Only 0.8.1 works with dreambox for streaming.

I test from PC to dreambox without any problems, but wich parameters use in vlc to connect dreambox stream without activeX for webXtv ?

Hi,

I will try to report this problem in a more detailed way:

Dreambox is a satellite decoder based on linux

Dreambox can hold different software images, here I'm referring to the Da Vinci 5 image

This image has a web interface that allows you to control the decoder and also send video streams to vlc

To send streams you click on a link and the browser writes down a temporary file named, in my particular case

H:\DOCUME~1\alessiof\IMPOST~1\Temp\video-4.pls

The pls file is handled by vlc, with 0.8.2 we get nothing, with other versions all works ok.

here is the content of the pls file, read with notepad

http://10.0.0.30:31339/0,0068,0204,028e,0204

So it seems that in some way pls parsing/redirecting in VLC got broken, or disabled.

Hope it can be fixed soon, if you like more info about this problem just ask.

Regards
