After I adjust hue and contrast, how do I save the file?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

After I adjust hue and contrast, how do I save the file?

I want to be able to save a file with the hue and contrast settings I can apply in the player. Is this doable?
If so, how do I save it?

Thank you

Part of the answer seems to be here:

http://wiki.videolan.org/Change_the_bri ... of_a_video

see page bottom where they talk about using Control S.

I went to the hue and brightness adjust and made a brightness change. Then I hit control S and a new window opens.

I think it wants you to save the settings for watching that item only.

Since I am new to this as well, I will follow the thread to see what the answer is.

For audio there is a full tree menu which allows adjustments numerically and then to save.
I did not see that available for video adjustments.

A quick check of a couple vids seems to indicate Control S has held its setting.
