Settings for best quality of 1080p file

Postby prodan » 29 Aug 2012 20:06

Hello,

I typically watch movies and TV shows in HD (1080p or 720p, at least). Almost all of them are in .mkv and I was wondering if changing some settings would somehow 'improve' the picture quality, or at least not decreases it. Should I put deinterlace to automatic? Which mode should I choose? What about post-processing? My computer is pretty new and has a decent CPU and graphics card. I watch everything on my actual 60-inch TV, which serves as a display for my computer, so yes, I do see the difference. Thanks and sorry for the newbie question!

Yes, of course.

A bobber not to lose temporal resolution, so Yadif 2x if your computer can handle it or the good old regular BOB.
