Mosaic: Problems combining Audio and Video

I am trying to setup a 2x2 Mosaic including at least one (better even more) audio sources for a training review application. I have 4 webcams - in this test setup I am using just one of them. I need to be able to watch the live stream as well as the file being generated.
The problem is that I can not produce a stable situation in which both the 4 videos and the audio are working in the live stream as well as in the file.
I am using VLC 2.0.3 on Windows 7 64 bit.
In version a), I am using H264 and AAC. Here I can hear the audio in the live stream, while the video is not displayed most of the time. In the file, I only have the video, audio is not included.
In version b), I am using theora and vorbis. Here I can only hear the audio in the live stream. In the file, I have both video and audio.
Any help or hints to helpful documentation, similar scripts that are working or the like is gladly appreciated.
I'd also like to offer a reasonable fincancial compensation on request for a solution to this problem.
