How to disable second 'extras' window for blu-ray discs

I have been using vlc 1.x to play bluray content for a few years (not new to vlc by any means) but in the latest 2.x version I've noticed a new quirk. On some discs with extra content (ie: video of the cast commenting on the movie as it plays) VLC opens two windows, one is the main title and the second is this cast extras window.

You can not close the 'extras' window without it closing down all of VLC. I could not find any documented or undocumented way to disable the extra window from starting up.

Another downside for me is that the videos are slightly choppy on my system as the video card can't decode both video streams in hardware without maxing the gpu at times.

Google also shows this 'second window' issue under Windows however my environment is Linux so this appears to be a cross platform bug.

Any ideas?

Select the correct video track in the video menu, I suppose.

Didn't work. However if it did it would still have beeen problematic since the media server doesn't usually have a mouse connected to it anyway, it's controlled from a remote...

For Blurays, use VLC 2.1.0-git nightly builds.
