ts/1080i/HDTV does not support subtitles

hi developers,
i don't know if the next problem is just in windows or maybe it's in any OS so i posted it in general,
anyway i recently downloaded some movies in 1080i-HDTV quality with the filename extension of: "ts", for example:

Code: Select all

Eurotrip UNRATED 2004 1080i HDTV MPEG2 DD5.1-CtrlHD.ts
and VLC can play this file great, but not with subtitles: every time i'm trying drag&drop subtitles to the player it's stop playing the current ts movie, and if i call the subtitles with the same name as the movie and put them together at the same directory the movie won't even open.
Please try to fix this problem.

here are some personal info (if needed):
1)I use windows 7 64bit in hebrew.
2)My VLC player is the least version(for now - 2.0.2) and it's in hebrew too.
3)I've tried to play this movie(among others in the same file extension) with subtitles in hebrew and english and none of them worked:

Code: Select all

Eurotrip UNRATED 2004 1080i HDTV MPEG2 DD5.1-CtrlHD.ts

At this moment, you can't use external subtitles files with MPEG-TS.

Please try VLC extension: Subtitler (lite)
Predefined automatic detection (dynamic path) of subtitles does not work properly, so please set a fixed path in the code of the script: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=97791#p346506
