Open folder preferences

When I play a vs folder in VLC, I click media/open folder and the "browse for folder" window opens. Inevitably, the same obscure folder is highlighted in My Music, requiring navigation to a different partition. How can I change the open folder preference?

It opens to the last opened Folder.

That's not True.
It returns to a folder I had played music from at one time.
But, regardless of how many dozens of video files I've looked at, and continue to look at, when
I chose Media/Open folder, it goes to "60s Music", not "Movies" where all the video ts folders are.
But, maybe, it is kind of true, cause you probably know what you're talking about.
So, I wonder if I move an audio file into my "Movie" folder and play it once. maybe the "open Folder" dialogue will open there for a while.
Thanks, I'll try it.

Did you deactivate recent items option?

I am having the same problem. I can't set a specific folder to open every time. I want my parent folder "music" not the VLC folder under program files as the default. I tried toggling the "save recent items" option under preferences after reading this blog but that doesn't seem to change anything. It is normally activated "checked."
Thanks, in advance, for the help. . .
