Saved gamma setting in adjust filter is rounding down

Using WinXP SP2 and VLC 0.8.2 (zip-version)

I enable the image adjust filter (Image properties filter) and save that. Then I set the image gamma to 1.350000 (tried just 1.35 as well) and save that too. I stop the movie and play it again and the gamma is changed alright.

But...

When I close VLC and restart it, the gamma setting is back down at 1.000000... I thougth it was just defaulting back down for some reason, but I discovered that if I set (and save) the gamma to like 2.350000 or 5.400000 or whatever, it (after a restart) falls down to 2.000000 and 5.000000 respectively, i.e. rounded down to the nearest integer or something.

I just upgraded from 0.7.2 (installed version), which is now uninstalled. No installation of VLC is present now. So I tried the zip version of 0.7.2 and in that version the gamma is saved and reset after a restart properly - to 1.350000 that I want.

Is this a known bug in win32 0.8.2 or am I doing something wrong here?

Now using vlc-win32-20050816-0153.zip on Win XP.

The problem is, I'm sad to say, still there. Exactly the way I described it above, rounding down etc. Weird.

Maybe I should reformat my C drive soon. Hasn't been done since last August!

Sorry, no... Same thing happens. Am I not supposed to just unzip, change the setting, save it, and restart VLC?

I don't know if it matters, but when I try a new version (in just another unzipped folder), the previous setting (rounded down of course) is present in the new version as well. E.g. when I tried this version, the gamma was already at 2.000000, which is what it was rounded down to yesterday in the previous version.

I'm more and more beginning to think that this is because of something strange with my system rather than with the program itself.

try changing the setting with the new version, saving. closing VLC and opening VLC (the new version) once more and check if the value is correct.

woopps. The linux version seemed to be fixed but i just tried it on windows and the problem still seems to be there. I'll have a look when i get back from work.
