can i use the vlc player for this?

usb tv tuner plug and play interface

bandwith: 6,7,8 MHz
dvb-c freq. :110-862 MHz
mod. 16,32,64,128,256 QAM
mpeg2 mpeg4...mpeg4 is now the one we use here in denmark

pc:quad 3.2 MHz
12 gigs of ram
gtx460 nvidia graphics

can anyone instruct me how to setup player? if it is possible?

Go to Media menu -> Open capture device. Select TV (digital) capture mode. Select DVB-C and put the transponder frequency, the modulation/constellation and the symbol/bauds rate. Press Play. Wait for tuning. Then select the TV channel from Playback menu -> Programs.

it just doesnt happen

local cable is freq 346000 symbolrate 6900 64QAM

i put it in but nothing happens

it is an usb tv tuner..can that be part of the problem?

mediacenter finds it with no problem..but that cant handle my hd and digital channel..only analog channels on that

actually did have pic on for a short while by settibng directshow to wdm 2885 and audio wdm 2885
then it started showing a channel...but then by accident hit the forward button and it disappeared ..i was trying to change channel...the program thing was greyed out

Nothing happens because the tuning parameters are wrong, so the tuner just streams nothing.

frq and symbolrate.QAM is the ones i have to set when i have to watch on tv..or through a box
how come then it doesnt work here?
cant i make vlc search for signal in any way?
the mediacenter and the prg that came with the tuner finds the settings themselves

For DVB-C, you need frequency, symbol rate and modulation (bandwidth is fixed to 8 MHz). 6900 is not a valid bauds rate. You probably meant 6900000.

either way it wont do it..6900 or 6900000

when i start directshow then it start..on the channel i left when using the other prg i got..cant change channel or anything

isnt there some thing i can use to find what settings it need?..i mean by checkin the usb thing

those settings i mentioned was the settings i need to setup television with built in tuner..or tuner box

when i started mediacenter it just found the tuner and checked the freq's it self..same for the prg that came with the usb tuner i didnt had to change settings for those

Works fine here.

I got mine working so yours should work as simple as mine.

Go to Open Capture Device

Select TV (Digital) - DVB-T - and your frequency for your city. (leave all other options as they are)


If nothing happens you either entered a incorrect frequency, or you have a bad antenna.
