How to Permanently Turn Off Extra VLC "3D" Windows?

When I click around in explorer opening videos, sometimes I'll hit one that opens a second window in VLC labeled "3d" output. I'm not talking about direct3d or hardware acceleration. I'm talking about a second window presumably intended for some sort of 3d glasses hardware I don't have. (VLC 2.0.1)

How do I disable this permanently so I never see more than a single VLC window per video that I'm playing? I don't want to have to take an action each time I encounter such a video, nor do I want to futz with the audio settings. (Someone suggested activating Goom might disable the extra windows.)

Use the menus to deactivate video tracks and then reactivate the first one.

That will work on the currently playing video, but as I stated originally, I need a solution that's permanent, so I can click around in explorer and not have the 2nd window pop up. If I apply your fix, it's lost if I click on a different video and then back to the original (where I already applied the fix once).
