Video and audio suddenly slow and skipping.

When I tried to play a video just a few minutes ago, the audio was skipping terribly, and the video was going quite slow. I believe that my VLC player is updated (nothing turned up when I checked for updates). I'm not sure what happened. The other day it was working perfectly fine, and today it's gone completely screwy on me. Can someone help me please?

Edit: I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and the problem is even worse. I deleted all preferences and cache, and nothing. What would make it just go crazy like this?

After upgrading my VLC to 2.1, the sound started stuttering. The video is fine, but the stuttering is so bad so the program is useless.
I have tried to delete some add-in files as recommended (libsamplerate_plugin.dll). However, they were not there. I have increased the cashing, I have changed the output model. Nothing helped. In other words, I have been a real car mechanic today, so the free product is not so free any more.

I uninstalled the 2.1 and reinstalled 1.1.9. and everything is fine. So until somebody finds out that sometimes developments are moving backwards, reinstall the old version.

I'm running a Lenovo T420. Win 7, 6 Gb RAM. No other program that I know of were running while trying VLC.

2.1 is a development version. It should not be a surprise that it has bugs. You're welcome to report them at the bug report site.

I just uninstalled VLC and installed version 1.1.9, working beautifully now.
