Sound problems, please help

Hello, I am sorry if this is in the wrong place, but since VLC Media Player is one of only two applications that work, and work well for me to play my videos, I thought I might post here.

I am having problems in Windows XP, and the problem might be XP's, but whenever I play any video's, the sound for voices is really weird. All the voices are played at a higher pitch, an example is I have one video with James Earl Jones speaking, (The guy who did Darth Vadar's voice) and its up so high, he sounds like Pee Wee Herman. Now, I have played around with all the settings I can find, and I can't change it to the normal voice. I don't have the sound problem on my Mac, and I have tried 3 different videos, so its not the video, it seems to be something in XP because any other application that can ply the audio, like Media Player, of these videos does the same thing, makes all the voices higher pitch. ALl the video's are avi's by the way.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate them. Thanks in advance, have wonderful day.

No you don't.
Sound problem is way too vague. Moreover the post is more than 4 years old...
Explain clearly what you have.
