how to cache all youtube stream video

Hello there, I use vlc to watch all my youtube videos, but, sometimes, some videos have to pause to cache itself, I've tried to find some option in vlc that will cache all the video stream for the computer hd/memory even when paused, like what the original flash player from youtube do.

What vlc seens to do now is cache some ms (I've tried to find the option in vlcrc to change it to a longer value but no success) when the video is playing, but if I pause it, it simply stop the caching.

So, resuming, what I want is a option to make vlc cache the youtube video until it reaches it end specially when the video is pause.

Thanks!

ps: I use the vlc 2.0.1 without gui, so an option to the command line or vlcrc i much apreciated.

Precaching is not implemented in VLC currently.

Is this feature somewhere on the 2.0 roadmap ?

Thanks.

Roadmaps don't make sense without a business or a sponsor.

Fair enough, let me rephrase :-D:

Is the VLC core team interested by such a feature ?

If I'm willing to help, is there a starting point for contributing on this matter ?
