Wonderful!
I wonder why it didn't work with the versions I downloaded.
So how to I get the filter to work on both sides of the film? ;-)

Please.. it works really fine, but only on one side... This filter would solve my problems completely.. I would really appreciate it if someone could make this filter work for the whole film!! I'm on my knees!! :)

Is there virtually no one that can make this filter work on both sides??

The filter is still work-in-progress:
The left hand side has grain, the right one doesn't. This is still work in progress but I'd appreciate any comments you could have. (The grain effect only has one default setting at the moment, I'll make it possible to change parameters later)
dionoea set it up so that one can compare the left-hand side (with grain) to the right-hand side (without grain) - just makes it easier than trying to visually compare two separate video streams. The filter is not complete - when dionoea finishes it he said he will make it possible to changes the parameters.

Arite.

I read that too. It's just that this was a few months ago and I haven't heard anything from him. Is he alright?
I was just hoping that the application for both sides could simply be done by altering some parmeters, so maybe someone else could just do it.

But if that is not the case then I will wait of course! It was not my intend to bother people that do me a favour!

Cheers

Fair enough :).

From what I can see, here is the source of the filter (noise.c):
http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/browser/tr ... er/noise.c

grain.c (here) appears to be the same except minus some comments.

I can't find anywhere about the filter only being applied to left side - could perhaps be elsewhere (or is subtly in the code somewhere). I have no real knowledge of C though.

Also, dionoea seems to be alright - last on the forum on Wednesday :D.

Cheers, Arite.
