starting directly the main movie of a dvd copy from harddisk

Postby kindami » 24 Jan 2007 09:55

Hi everybody,
i´m new in this board and i have the first question after working with vlc for about a year.
For every problem i had before, i found a solution in this forum, but now i could not find any further help.

I work with Xlobby on my HTPC.
I can start playing movies out of Xlobby, which is starting VLC with commandline options.
The movies are stored on my Server, to which the HTPC is connected via network.
Now i want to start VLC direct to the main movie, but it always start to the DVD Menu.
Is there any possibility to give VLC a commandline option or any other adjustment to start into the main movie?

thank you in advance for your answers

thanks for the hint, but i´m not working with the dvd:// command.
I use "%path%" instead of dvd:// or dvdsimple:// because i open a backup of the dvd from my servers harddisk.

or am i wrong with understanding?

If I wanted to start track 3 of my dvd from the hard-disk directory "x:\three times" I'd add the following mrl to the playlist:

dvdsimple://"X:\Three Times"@3

Note the careful use of quotes.

To start at chapter 2 would be:

dvdsimple://"X:\Three Times"@3:2
