What audio codec is 's16l'?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

I can't figure out what codec 's16l' is referring to. Does anyone know?

Thanks.

as far as I remember, that's uncompressed 16 bit integer data commonly used in WAV or AIFF files. I can't remember whether it is little endian (as in WAV) or big endian (as in AIFF), in any case it's PCM.

I hope this helps you, although I don't understand why you're asking such stuff ;)
