No Output

Postby MJH » 30 Nov 2003 16:20

Thre is no output in my winXP. However, I can get a film to show if I stream it with the "play locally" option, but that means it locks up when I enable menu support...

You need to install freebidi.
I'm surprised it wasn't there.

Still getting the same problem under MacOS X 10.3 that I was with the 0.6x releases.

Opening a video window slowly fades in the video window, but then it opens the video up many times stacked right on top of one another. Closing one window closes them all. It is impossible to play any video since with so many windows of the same movie it plays very slowly.

Sound works perfectly.

Have other users reported this problem or am I an isolated case?

A of course. ebuilds never work for test versions, only for final versions.
You could try the cvs ebuild. it's much more useful in my eyes :)

DirectX used as Input

Postby robsmith » 10 Dec 2003 18:35

Hi,

I would like to be able to stream video directly from my DirectX enabled capture Card (Creative DVCR). I was playing with the Directx options on the test client, but all I see is a black screen. Is there any way to specify which input (pin?) to use with regard to the DirectX device.

I have poked around with graphedit a bit, but have little clue as to what to try to get this to work.

Any help is appreciated ...

Thanks,

Bob

Crash

Postby NovaChild » 13 Dec 2003 12:14

The MacOSX binary crashes for me when I try to play a DVD on 10.3 with a dual 1.8-ghz G5 with "Use DVD menus" clicked. It plays fine if I uncheck that box. It also seems to play video files just fine, though I still get the error "coreaudio audio output error: failed to set buffer size: [nope]" when I try to switch to the Digital audio device (which I'd like to do to pass dts/dolby sound through to my decoder through the G5's optical out)

The visualizations feature doesn't seem to work in the MacOS version. When I close the notice window or the small pop-up window (for the visualizer, I guess), the movie window closes as well.

Oh yeah, and the subtitles don't show up even though I can select it in the subtitle track menu. I should mention though that it is an MKV file.

Just want to say that VLC is great! Keep up the good work. I really like the hotkeys functions in 0.7 :D

Actually, that only happens with "GOOM" (I don't really know what that means)
