MKV file video doesnt appear... help please

I'm trying to play an anime series that is MKV format. The audio works, but the video doesnt.

any suggestions?

Do you know which video codec ist used? What Info do you get with mkvinfo "yourFile.mkv"? Mkvinfo can be found here: http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/ .

Real video in mkv isn't supported by vlc,AFAIK.

Format info... can be found in VLC while playing the video press ctrl i and go to the Advanced Info... tab.
